Narrative

Red Velvet (2021) – If being black was chocolate ice cream, and being Latina was cherry, the world sees Aviva Ardor as a Swirl of the two when she’s really Red Velvet. After searching for personal connection and understanding, Aviva must accept who she truly is regardless if the world does or not.

Beauty Killer (2019) – a beauty Guru seeks to kill everyone with more followers than her.

Plan Beee (2017)– is about an entomology major who wants to study abroad to observe the Western Australian Bees. However, after a condom malfunction, she takes a plan b to keep control of her body just how a queen bee has complete control of her reproductive system.

Holy Ground (Trailer-2018) – After months of believing she is the last human on earth, Olivia is ready to end it all and dig her final resting place. Before she is able to finish, she spots another survivor but finds that it is the last person she wants to be with.

Marci’s White Rabbit (2016) – follows a young girl who seeks inner peace within a domestically abusive household. This was the first of two of Capstone films Danielle directed in her undergrad.

Documentary

Clothes Cycle – was a failed experiment that was sparked by Danielle’s guilt of consuming cheaply made clothing. She sought to find more responsible ways to deal with unwanted clothing and to lessen textile waste. She plans to develop this into a mini documentary series that can closely examine the clothes cycle we all contribute to uncontrollably.

Animation

“Martinique” (2022) – (feat. Star Moles) from Jupiter Radio Theater’s EP ‘Chameleons’, is available now. This is a stop motion animation created and directed by Danielle Gibson..

75 MG + 150 XL MG (Experimental – 2017) – The first film made for an experimental class taught under the experimental filmmaker Ryan Murray. It is a statement on identity when taking rising doses of prescription medicines, and relationships to ones illness.

The Frog Song (2020) – is a stop motion music video that is animated from the perspective of the piano. Each frame is a scan from an Epson V600 Scanner with gouache painted on its glass. On its own, it’s a colorful song by progressive rock jazz trio Music by Gestalt, who musically paints an impressionist image of a frog singing to his baby tadpole.
